United Methodist Youth Fellowship

We want to reach out to our youth, both members and visitors, to invite them for our Youth Fellowship time each week. UMYF provides a great time of centering the "real" issues of teenage life in a fun-filled environment of care and support. We meet together each Sunday evening for a variety of activities...good-times and prayer.

 Our youth need a place where they can call their own to take a break from the world...a community of friends that can hear what they are "really" saying...and a support group of faith that will help them keep the Way.

The youth group is always in need of drivers and adult chaperones. Youth events are a great way to get to know the teenagers of our church and also have fun. If you have younger children and would like them to get a glimpse of youth ministry - you are welcome to come at any time. If you are an older member of the church with a bit of free time we would love to have you as a chaperone.

Heidi Welch is our Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministries. Heidi is married to Rasul Welch, and they are the proud parents of  Sef. She has experience in youth ministry and collaborates with our Youth Council, the Christian Education Committee, our youth mission team and other groups to create a comprehensive and excellent ministry with our youth. Mission Trip 2012 - The results are in: we're going to Brooklyn! Mark your calendars for July 15th-19th! Our first meeting will be November 20th in the Parlor after the 2nd service. Come get information about the upcoming trip and all the great fundraising events! We will do many fundraisers throughout the year, and in order to get to know the Mission Trippers, each person who signs up needs to help with at least 5 fundraisers. We will also be having a mission trip meeting the last Sunday of each month beginning in January to help get to know the team and prepare for the week adventure in Brooklyn! To help with the cost of the trip, we are asking each youth pay $125. We've already raised over $1,000 from parking cars for Market on the Green and the Summer Supper!
